The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) provides employees a tool to access for their career development. There are many opportunities and resources for growth, so we designed a thoughtful and simple career roadmap for employees to create goals and track their progress.

The client asked that we redesigned their career path tool as it was hard to maintain, outdated, and users weren't motivated to use it due to the number of steps and clunky interface.

I lead the redesign of the tool in matters of user interface and experience through the tool, providing consultation, and working with a power app developer. My full list of responsibilities include:

  • UI/UX design and consultation for a total of 93 screens for the new application.
  • Designing and presentating prototypes with visual mockups to show the FAA Human Resources team how the application works from a user perspective, using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe XD.
  • Creating the design system to create a conistent look and feel that matches our branding and best standards in reporting software.
  • Provided expertise on the possibilities of Power App components to the developers during the design process.
  • Provide documentation on user flows, development notes, and integration of our in-house developer's advise on database specs to support the new features of the tool.
  • Designed a dynamic PDF template defining character limits and best practices for users to print position profile information.
