As an artist, I view art as a form of language used to communicate with an ongoing relationship with the universe (cliché, I know, but what can I say? It's a great theme of life). When I first started in my art journey, I explored portraiture as a way to understand those around me. As I get older, I have found myself more interested in the immersive and everything around me - what I can see and what I can feel. My landscapes have allowed a deeper communication with the passing moments and a way to appreciate what is. I find art to be a capture of a present time and a great way to relish in it.
As a web designer, my passion is to make things useable for everyone. Not only should things look “pretty” but it should make sense and not need a grand tutorial on how to use it. Some fun books I’ve read that elaborates on this topic is Don’t Make Me Think by Steve Krueger and Scott Mcloud’s Understanding Comics, where he explains symbols and why we can easily identify things through art. Art and usability mesh really well together, so I look forward to learning and applying this in my web-based projects, where art meets interaction.
